When it comes to the vast art that touches our lives, the visual has become a key component. We are all sponges when it comes to this. We’re here to be part of that positive conversation. 

Too often good literary journals feature wonderful talent, but there seems to be a lack of  focus. In The Soldati Reels, you will have a reading experience where theme and sensibility matter to us collectively on every page. Each edition reads like a great short story collection, where differing pieces contain a combined cinematic impression of what both known and up-and-coming writers share from their love for the visual in a variety of genres. Short scripts, fiction, nonfiction, film soundtracks commentary, author and industry-related interviews, graphic imagery inspired by the visuals contributors admire.

These are not just writers trying to impress other writers. Our contributors want to speak to the greater reading public in a way that changes and challenges the ways we think about literature inspired by visual forces. That’s our true north mission.
